Just like the rest of our company, the Engineering Team at Jackpocket has grown a lot in the last few years.
And with some of us working in New York City, some working on the West Coast, and others working remotely, we jumped at the opportunity to get the gang together as a team.
The idea for Engineering Week was born.
Hosted in downtown Santa Barbara, our engineers got the time to connect with teammates they don’t get to see in-person every day, while also getting to know the city our Santa Barbara crew (including our CEO and CTO!) call home.
For 5 days, the Jackpocket engineering department descended on State Street. Taco Tuesday, a dolphin watching cruise, and team dinner at Reunion Kitchen were all on the itinerary. So were standups, brainstorming sessions, and a whole lot of nitro cold brew.
One of the reasons Santa Barbara was chosen as the site for Jackpocket’s second headquarters is its troves of notable tech companies (not to mention 300 days of sun year-round), and we were excited for out-of-towner teammates to experience the entrepreneurial community firsthand.
