Remember to Gift Responsibly this Holiday Season!

Keep the lottery tickets at the adults table.

Scratchers can make for fun stocking stuffers, but be mindful of the exact stockings you stuff them in.

While lottery tickets and scratchers can make for fun additions to the holiday season, they should be kept to the 18-and-older crowd.

Jackpocket is once again celebrating this holiday season by preaching and practicing safe fun. As has been the case in the past, we are joining the National Council on Problem Gambling in kicking off their annual Gift Responsibly Campaign.

Among the reasons why Jackpocket is joining the Gift Responsibly Campaign are the following findings from the National Council on Problem Gambling:

  • Many young people report their first gambling experience occurs around 9-11 years of age.

  • Approximately 60 percent of high-school-aged adolescents report having gambled for money during the past year.

  • Ten to 14 percent of adolescents are at-risk for developing a problem with gambling.

  • Four to six percent of adolescents presently have a serious problem with gambling. Putting it into perspective, adult gambling disorder prevalence rates are about one to two percent of the population.
