The Massachusetts Lottery is making changes to their popular Megabucks Doubler game and we’re here to fill you in. Read on to learn what’s new!
What’s changing about MA Megabucks Doubler?
Here are the changes going into effect on November 12, 2023:
1. New Name: It’s just Megabucks now.
The Doubler multiplier is gone.
2. Better odds & BIGGER prizes.
Wave goodbye to the Doubler multiplier and hello to non-jackpot prizes that are twice as BIG!
- Match 3: $4
- Match 4: $200
- Match 5: $5,000
- Match 6: Grand Prize
Plus your overall odds of winning a prize are better, too—from 1:54 to 1:39.3!
3. New Third Drawing
Mondays are now for Megabucks along with Wednesdays and Saturdays. The first Monday drawing is on November 13!
4. Bye bye numbers 45 through 49.
Sorry if these were your lucky ones. :-( After this redesign, your new MA Megabucks numbers will have to be between 1 to 44.
5. The price per play will increase from $1 to $2.
Don’t shoot the messenger! The MA Lottery has a very good reason for the increase (see #2).
What does this mean for Jackpocket app users?
Jackpocket users trying their luck with MA Megabucks can expect the increased ticket price, bigger prizes, and new drawing dates. If you have an Smart Order set with the numbers 45, 46, 47, 48, or 49, you’ll need to update your Smart Order to fit the new game rules. Learn more here.
