How to Play Pick 3 in Maine
Maine’s Pick 3 is easy to play. Choose three numbers between 0 and 9. Try your favorite number combinations or play with Quick Pick on the Jackpocket app for randomly generated numbers. To win the top prize, match all three numbers in the order drawn. Unlike other draw games, in Pick 3, the order drawn matters. Matching three numbers in the order drawn is known in Pick 3 as a straight. It’s an enjoyable way to play the lottery in Maine.
You know the basics behind how to play Pick 3 in Maine. But did you know that there are multiple ways to win?
You just learned about the straight wager type, where your numbers are drawn in the exact order you selected for your game. Here are additional wager types and how to win using them:
Box 3-way gives you three combinations of numbers to win a prize. Short and sweet, it doesn’t matter in which order your numbers are drawn if they are the same three numbers. Let’s say the numbers drawn were 1-6-4. You could win with:
-
1-6-4
-
4-1-6
-
6-4-1
Box 6-way increases the combination possibilities. Let’s say the numbers drawn include 6-7-8. Playing a Box 6-way wager, here are your winning combinations:
-
6-7-8
-
6-8-7
-
7-6-8
-
7-8-6
-
8-6-7
-
8-7-6
Front Pair is a winner when you pick two numbers and they are drawn in the same order you played. With this game, you match the first two numbers, so you don’t need to play the third number.
Back Pair is the opposite of Front Pair. Instead of the first two numbers, you are playing the middle number and the last drawn. Again, you must match the exact numbers in the order drawn.
Single Digit offers the best odds of winning a prize. Choose a number and a position (first, second or third number drawn). If your number falls in that position, you win a prize regardless of the other two numbers drawn. For example, if you choose lucky 7 in the third line, it doesn’t matter what numbers are drawn first and second as long as 7 is drawn third.
Pick 3 Prizes & Odds
Players matching all three winning numbers drawn in the official PICK 3 drawing for the date and time played can win up to $500, depending on the play type and the amount wagered.
