A $1 million Mega Millions prize was recently won in New Jersey with a ticket ordered using the Jackpocket app. Amazingly, another Jackpocket user in the state also won a $3 million prize in the same drawing!
The winner's Quick Pick ticket for the October 6th drawing matched 5 numbers, just missing the gold Mega Ball.
The winner said he opened a “You Won Big!” email from Jackpocket the morning after the drawing and his initial reaction was, “No way!”
His girlfriend of ten years was sitting on the couch beside him. “We were both kind of in a daze all Saturday. I was supposed to get the oil changed on my car and I completely forgot,” he recalled.
“I’ve been saving up for a ring for her. So this came at the perfect time. Over the past 10 years, I’ve kept a log of what she likes. I think we found one.”
The couple who have an 8-month-old baby say a new home is also on their list.
The Mega Millions winner, who lives in Pennsylvania and works in New Jersey, picked up his ticket from Jackpocket with his brother in tow. "I was super excited," he said of his winning moment. "I still am."
